I was born in Varna, right by the sea, but I never learned to swim. Before I became a children's author, a mother of two and the founder of Marmot Books, I studied all sorts of things and worked all sorts of jobs*.
As a child, I studied art for 12 years, but I never really learned to draw well.
Still, when I visit children, I try to sketch some of my characters. I draw the Motts best.

I love laughing with the kids when I visit them as an author.
Laughter brings us closer, and when we're close, the kids trust me more. Then we can talk about anything - funny, scary, unexpected or sad - and above all about the important things that are part of growing up and of our world.
At our meetings we talk about my books too, of course.
I write for different ages, so I meet children as young as 3 and as old as 13. I love funny books about important things. I never hold back when I write for children. I believe you can write about anything in a children's book, as long as you find the right words. My books are written in Bulgarian, and some have been published in China, Finland, Poland, the USA and Ukraine.

Talking with children is what I enjoy most, but conversations with grown-ups sometimes turn out well too. Here are a few of them.
Thank you for visiting me online. I'd love to meet you in person too!
* I've worked as a waitress, receptionist, tour guide, promoter, editor, journalist, copywriter, e-commerce specialist and marketer.
I've studied drawing, Italian, English, HTML, Google Ads, journalism and creative writing.
Illustrations by Melina-Elina Bondokova (The Adventures of the Motts) and Boyan Yordanov (Miss Wacky Jackie, Guardians of the Lantern).

Dog or cow?
Sometimes the kids tell me: “You draw really well, Radi!”. Other times someone points at the dog I've just drawn and says: “That looks like a cow, Radi!”.

Here we are, talking, laughing and hugging.
